Okay I need to get my vehicle back to Mo-Town in 2 weeks and I was wondering what kind of vehicle would be nesacery to get this job done. There will also be a few pretty decent sized hill climbs along the way along with one VERY hard hill climb to start off with going over the Cuesta Grade.. What is the weakest vehicle that can accomplish this.. I don't know much about towing stuff since i never have really done it..

Only vehicle that it seems like I will be able to get is a lowered 1/2 ton Ford pickup rollin' on 20's you think this will be enough?

I just don't trust me jeep on a trip like this yet since the most i have driven so far is just around the block

Thanks for any advice!

Well with a little gas money and let me know when. I could bring my father in-law 3/4 ton along with the car trailer over . He pulls a 27 fifth wheel over that grade all the time. Let me know. That's a least I could do for hooking me up with the $50.00 wag.

I've towed my J-10 (when I bought it) over 70 miles uphill with a dolly and my 4.3 powered S-10 Blazer, and it actually did ok, even at highway speeds.

If you have a full trailer, I would say a 3/4 ton would be ideal, however a 1/2 ton would do the job, as long as it's powered right. A 5.7 Chevy or a 5.8 Ford 1/2 ton will take care of towing a Wag no problem.

Make sure if it's an A/T vehicle not to use O/D with that kind of a load or you may overheat the tranny.

What ever you do don't use a dolley. unless you like picking up tires and shafts off of the hyway and repairing rear axles.
