Engine Rebuild=Sparkplug Fouling

I have recently rebuilt my 360 from top to bottom. Had cylinder heads rebuilt at machine shop. Engine runs but spark plugs are fouling because of carbon build up. Have read that this could be exhaust valve problem. Could this be caused from leaks in exhaust system?(I have a few)

Sounds more like it's running rich to me.

is there any damage to the electrode or is just carbon fouled? Are all of them fouled or just one? how does the motor run: good, bad,hesitates? was the carb rebuilt, what is your idle and timing set at? let see if we can deduce from some more info.

There is no damage to the electrode. Engine runs pretty smoothly until carbon starts to build up. Idle is set at 1100rpm and timing was initially set at about 5-8 degrees btdc. The carb has also been rebuilt. All but two of the plugs fouled after running engine for about 30 min.

Mine fouled plugs all the time...TFI and a "good" carb rebuild and adjustment...no more fouled plugs. How many miles on the motor? A bit of fouling can be expected on a new engine until the rings seat..I may be wrong..but that was what I was told when I was having this problem when I got my new motor..outside of the running rich problem.

... Most of our FSJs run rich and have at least a small Carbon build up problem. Even if you don't have the problem Upper lubes will make a truck run better.
