First I have no headlights. I have power to the relay on the inner fender but no lights. Any ideas?

Next, the auto transmission. I will be driving at slow speeds and it acts like it just down shifted, revs way up and no go. I don't have the throttle kickdown linkage connected yet...maybe the problem? Again any ideas??

As always this is the best site and everyone out there is always there to help. Thanks in advance.

I would suggest taking a test light and starting at the headlight and go back. Possible problems: Bad ground, dimmer switch, headlights shot, dash switch. You may have already tried these but its all I could think of at the moment.
As far as the trans I would hook up the kick down and try that also,if you have removed the engine or the heads, make sure the bracket on the drivers side head is mounted properly. When I replaced my engine the linkage that goes thru this bracket was a tad bit off and caused the trans to act goofy.

Forgot to mention the bracket is on the backside of the head.

You'll kill your tranny without the kickdown hooked up, so hook it up ASAP and adjust it properly.

That relay on the driver's-side fender is for the fog-lights, not the headlights. Check that you've got voltage to the headlight switch in the dash, and at the dimmer-switch at the base of the steering-column.

First off, what truck are asking about? Your sig lists three trucks.

This is the 87 Wag (PsyOp). I installed the kickdown linkage today and now It will not shift. 20 miles an hour around the neighborhood and the neighbors look in aw is that discust :D

I just checked the book and it appears there is a vacum line I need to connect. Any ideas??

That is not a kickdown linkage. I forget exactly what it is called but it regulates the shifting of the transmission. It must be adjusted properly or the tranny can be damaged. There is no vacuum line to hook up. The older, pre-1980 trucks used the GM Turbo400 tranny that did have a vacuum line to connect to the vacuum modulator and a mechanical kickdown linkage.

The post-1979 trucks use the Chrysler 727 tranny which uses one mechanical linkage to modulate the shifting and the kickdown.
