Crunching sound on slow, tight turns?

I own a 1978 Cherokee Chief. When I make a slow turn (under 10mph) I hear continuous crunching sounds coming from the front & rear of the vehicle. Is this just the quadratrack working or is there something else wrong? Could it be alignment? It sounds like its coming from the front more than the rear of the truck. This also happens when I come to a stop sign except it's just 1 crunch sound.

Check your u-joints...this is a common complaint. Also, if you have any type of locker or limited slip in the rear it will bind under tight turns. That's just the nature of the beast. Definitely check the u-joints out, though.
