Spindle and wheel bearing questions...

When should the spoindle bearings be replaced? With the wheel bearings?

I've torn apart the front axels to change the u-joints (I think original). Wheel bearings have a brown color to them on the contact surface. I think this means a little burning, should I change them? I didn't have any play in the wheels.
The wheel bearing grease had a rust color to it, but the bearings son't have any rust on them.

If you've got tore down that much you may as well
replace all the bearings. It beats having to tear it all down again. MHO.
