Dang tailgate window!

The dang tailgate window won't do down. It makes it about 1/2 an inch, then quits. If you can weasel your finger in the tiny gap, then it's possible to help it down. It works a little better going up; going up it doesn't need any help, but is very slow.

Does this sound like the window motor? Last spring when I had the tailgate open, I liberally sprayed lithium grease all over the gears and regulator, and they looked OK. So, it has to be the motor, right?

I'm kinda in the same boat. Mine went down now it won't go up, but I can hear the motor run. What do you think.

the rubber in the guides/channels may be ripped and binding up acting like a set of brakes. I replaced my window channels. and all works great. got them from the dealer. think it was about 40 bucks for both sides

Check the lift arms where they attach to the window bracket. If the retainer clips are off the window won't work right, I've also had the "guides"? on the bracket break off. If that's the case you can get somebody to weld them back on. Be carefull not to get the glass too hot, or better yet remove the glass so it wont break. Or, Bj's Offroad sells this piece. I think it's about $55
