I have been told around 200 is normal. I believe stock cooling is sufficient for normal steet driving.

type (F) is a better fluid to run as long as you keep the temp under 310F if you do install a cooler run it in series with the rad cooler

I contacted Turbo-Action about trans temp a few weeks ago. Their are 2 "rules." One says that your trans temp should run in the 180-200 range, and another says 20 degrees cooler than your engine temp. Mine was running around 200,(hotter than my engine temp) and he definately recommended an auxiliary fan for my cooler (it is grill mounted, so it doesn't get any air at idle or slow speeds). They also recommend synthetic trans fluid to cool it more.
