I have an '83 ltd with 90k on it,the motor has a tick to it no knocking at all or other noises,at highway speeds the oil pressure is around 30-40,but at idle it drops to 6-10(just above the red line)is this cause for serious concern?the oil level is fine and it does not burn any between changes.the tick I think is a stuck lifter

Hi and welcome to the forum.
I assume you have a 360 amc. Check out BJ's offroad

In the engine department they have a oil pump rebuild kit. It is not expensive and not hard to do. (Easier than that darn fuel pump IMHO).

Yea and no. Depends a lot on oil changes, if the maintance history is poor generally the oil pumps are wore. However the rebuild kit does not always fix the problem. I find more often than not the oil pump kit does little to improve the oil pressure. It is usually the front cover the oil pump is housed in wears out. Other factors are the engine bearings themselves, being the general condition of the engine. Pump is a easy and cheap place to start. Good Luck
