View Full Version : ticking is driving me crazy

on startup i have a mild ticking sound coming from the engine compartment ....seems to go away when the engine warms up...could this be an exausht leak at the manifolds? also, on hard acceleration i have what i call " the lawnmower" sound. it sounds like metal rubbing...i am clueless...any help would be appreciated....thanks

could be an exhaust leak, valve train or something hitting on the flexplate /flywheel area. if you would post more info as to what exactly you drive, you may get more than a generic answer.

Exhaust leak, you will probably have to crawl up under the vehicle to find it, try tightening all of the exhaust manifold bolts including down to the Y-Pipe.
