View Full Version : little resistor thingy on back of temp/gas gauge

is it for the gas gauge? My gas gauge doesn't work, and I've already replaced the old rusted sending unit, re-attached the bumper ground, and tried grounding out the wire at the wheelwell to see if the gauge moves, it didn't.

If it's hooked to the terminal below the two terminals on the back of the temp gauge it's the CVR. It drops the volts to the temp and fuel gauges down to 5v. If that was fried though your temp gauge wouldn't be working either.

The temp gauge works, and this thing is on the upper half of the gauge. There are 3 bolts (terminals maybe?) on the back under the resistor thingy with nothing connected to them.
