Can anybody tell me the number of teeth on a stock speedo gear (transmission side)for a 1981 Jeep J-10 W/258,Auto,and 235/75/15 tires? really need an answer to this as my speedometer dont work

You may want to try to grease the speedo cable first. Drop the gauges panel, unscrew the cable from the speedo.
The metallic cable can entirely removed from the plastic part of the cable.
lube it, insert it,
extract it, lube it, insert it
extract it, lube it, insert it
Mine was completely dry at 100K miles, and squeaky.

Replaced the speedo cable 2 days ago, Gear on tranmission side of cable ismissing maybe it was a factory option?
