Ok im getting ready to fix a bunch of leaks and I have a few questions:
1. Does anything need to be put on the exhauste manifold gasket? Copper stuff?
2. What bolts do I use to replace the air tube bolts? If not bolts what do I do?
3. what would you use for the valve cover and oil pan gasket.
a. right stuff gasket maker
b. permatex ultra blue
c. stock replacment gasket
d. a combination of a,b, or c
e. Other (pleas specify)
Thanks for the help.

1. Nope dry is the way to go on exhaust gaskets
2. Air tube bolts have a hole through them, replace them only with tube bolts, I have a bunch laying around if you need some.
3. replacement gaskets, but get the rubber ones not the cork, then use a small bead of RTV
Well at least that is what I think.

i wasnent gonne reuse the airtubes but instead get rid of that whole junk system. Are the bolts your talking about right for that kind of this? If so then hook me up.

You are correct, dry is the best way for the exhaust manifold. I like to take a file and file the manifold flat first. It may take some time, but you will not have leaks.
Anyone know the best way to plug up the AIR lines in the exhaust mainfold? I know that they are NOT pipe threads rather they are a fine straight thread. There must be some type of SUPER SANO way to do it. Most of the ways that i have done it it the past worked but looked like S###T.
well at work my buddy took the nutsert hand tool and put in the inserts, and then screwed in button head bolts looks very cool and it doesnt leak, stanley makes a hand tool with inserts for a decent price his looks perfect

your talking about the 3/4 inch head or so bolts on the smog tubes bolted to the manifolds right?
BTW, the reason I have them is because I removed them from both the 360s I have owned. I plugged the holes with some caps.

The previous owner just put short bolts in mine.

Be sure to use anti-seize on the exhaust manifold bolts. It'll ease removal in the future should the need arise.
