I'm having trouble locating an exhaust manifold for this engine. I actually found quite a few for the 72 and up years, but do they interchange?. What will interchange and who sells good replacements?

Contact Webb's Auto salvage in Indiana. Loads of AMC parts. The owner, Jim Webb, will be able to tell you if the newer stuff is compatible. I beleive they are the same, but he would know for sure. Go to www.webbsclassic.com. (http://www.webbsclassic.com.) If that doesn't work, try Kennedy American in Ohio. His number is 614-879-7283

I has a 1 barrel carb right? Any AMC vehicle with that carb setup will work. Thats jeeps and the AMC cars that came with it. Or you could move up to a later 2 barrel setup off a 258. I think up to 79 will work. Though I would lose the manifold and get a header.

Do a search for "postal jeep" and check home pages of people who have modified their's...

They had 232's from 70-78, link here:
