Will a Clifford 258 bolt to a TH400 from a 74 J-20 that had a AMC 360 in it originally? A fella at the PBS board told me that all I needed was a flexplate that matched, is this true? Just double checking info. tongue.gif

AMC engines except the 2.5L 4cyl have same BH bolt pattern.
so....
Pretty much yeah, you need the correct flexplate and torque convertor ...and of course mounts - motor or trans depending in what transplants into what.
what is a "Clifford 258"? Never heard of that before
yes...but it is not a straight swap. you will need to relocate the engine about 9 inches back.
Clifford is the biggest aftermarket high performance part manufacturer for the AMC inline 6 (258). If he called it a Clifford 258 I would assume it has a nice metal valve cover and lots of other goodies.
