I rebuilt the motorcraft 2150 in my 89 waggy but it stalls and sometimes dies now when i hit the gas unless i really overlly baby it. It also wont start unless i push the petal down a little, even when at operating temp. I dont have to set the choke in the cold, pust press the gas a little and it starts. The idle seems slow too. The carb was really screwed up by th POs mechaninc and was not put together correctly so im not sure what is right. I have searched the web for a while for answers but found none.

The PO may have done an excellent job on the carb rebuild but sill left a bit of tinkering to do.
The choke should remain open when the engine is warmed up, since the purpose of the choke is to restrict airflow and thus enable a richer mixture for cold startup. If the choke shuts when the engine is warm, it'll take a bit longer to start because the electric actuation has to open that lid and let some air in.
I know these things happen at the worst conceivable times, but if possible try to bring the Jeep into your driveway and thus be able to tinker with it when the engine is warmed up.
Disconnect the battery, then take the top of the carb off and check the float levels. If they are too high, you will definitely have warm-start troubles because you're essentially flooding the engine every time.
If that doesn't solve the problem, it's possible you have a vapor lock situation. That means (a) replacing all of the old rubber fuel lines and even the gas tank vent lines, and/or (b) getting a new fuel pump.
I notice in your sig that you hope to get fuel injection. If you're going to go that route, you'll definitely want to take the trouble now of replacing all of the rubber fuel and vent lines so that your system can maintain nice even inlet and return pressure for fuel injection. Nice thing about the FSJ tank setup is that the vent line from the charcoal canister to the tank can be used as a return line from the throttle body.
