IF I pull the pan to do the rear main, is there any value in re-torquing the bearings??

Hey Ernzo, This comes from the factory service manual so I think you can count on the accuracy.
Rod bearing caps - 33 ft.lbs or 45 Nm. torque.
Good luck, Keep Jeepin

Thanks R Kriz, yea I have that book, grea!! What about re-torquing them? I suppose that no harm done, but is it ever necessary or reccomended? USed to be in older cars.

Never done it nor have I ever heard of it being done. Doesn't mean you can't. Surely won't hurt anything.

Out of the same manual, re-torque values are:
41-47 Nm and 30-35 ft. lbs.
should be no need unless you're down there anyway and feel like it. I don't know how many times they recommend before replacing with new studs.
