HELP white stuff in intake manifold

i brought a 360 engine from one of the members here when i took the carb off to put mine on it i notice that on one side at the bottom of the intake manifold ther was a bulid up of white stuff clearup to the top of the throttle body the thing the carb sets onther was still a small opeaning left there how do i get this stuff out and does this mean the engine is no good or what i havent got in installed in my jeep yet the engine is supposed to have onel 88,000 miles on it do i need to take the intake off or what and also what causes this stuff all advice would be appreciated thankyou :confused:

I am not quite sure what the white stuff could be, is it a stock manifold or an AL one?

I would probably take it off and clean it all up good, especially if it is out of the vehicle, pretty easy to get to.

Acid bath, if it is OK for the metal. The stock intake on my 360 had one, very clean now.
