I want to put bucket seats in my 85 J10, I've searched the previous posts on this topic suggesting mustang seats etc., however in my search of the local wreckers have found a late 80's grand wagoneer which has the right colors, and it seems like an easy swap. Is it? My worry is that there might not be enough distance from between the steering wheel and back of cab.
This is my first post here but have been following for several months and sure appreciate the info.
Thanks
Mike

Easy swap, they fit right in, you may have to shim the driver's seat a bit to get it level, I did, but other than that they go in pretty good. Hardest part is getting the old ones out. If you need to get new bolts let me know and I'll find out what size they are for you. Took me a few trips to the hardware store as I had to cut all the bolts and didn't a real good match. A tap will also come in handy. Let me know if you need anything else.

Welcome to the forum....I put 80 something wagoneer buckets in my 79 J-10. The trick is using the mounting brackets from your truck. The other seats bolt right on top and slide back and forth just like they should. However, I got seats out of a four-door and they don't tip forward which is a minor inconvience for in cab storage. You probably could put in a bench seat but I have not heard of anyone doing that.
