did anyone see this on daytime tv this week, they say u just add that junk and you can run with out oil , they had an i6 running with the cover off and it had no oil and the guy said that the lube junk did it...

also they sprayed dome junk in the dist cap and it was water proof because of it.

they even sprayed the engine with a water hose to see that it would still run... i hate these shows i am lucky i dont have a CC because i would most likely have it at my door today...

Do a web search for PT Barnum's famous quote :D

I believe you are referring to Prolong. That stuff is pretty much just "snake oil". Seen as how I work at a garage, we get all the trade mags, and there was an article in one a while back saying how it actually hindered engine health rather than helped. I have never actually used the stuff myself, and don't really plan on using any of those additives. Why mess with something that isn't broken?? Knock on wood....

That I6 they'reusing is a Ford 300(I think). Those things with their seven main bearings will run like that without the prolong. Wonder what it would look like if they tried that with a 360 with 100,000 miles on it. BTW a friendof minewas a slick 50 fan, he had a 80's 5liter t-bird, ran slick 50 at 30,000 and 80,000 miles. At 120,000 His mech had the heads off for a gasket and was (according to my friend) freaked out about how clean it was and no noticeable cylinder ridge. This guy changed oil real regular though also.
