Here is a good one for you guys hope you can help. I rebuilt my 360 in my 89 GW.
Put the distibuter cam gear on backword.
Drove the truck had it fixed and now it seems I have a severe knock. Very hard when cold then softens when hot. But is there and is persistant. Power is good, oil pressure is
pegged to the top of the gauge. Have been told it could be a wrist pin.

My question to you guys is how could the wrist pin be affected by my earlier mistake. And if it is how can I diagnose the problem to be sure that is what needs to be done. I have been told to remove the plug wires from one cylinder at a time and see if the knock reduces. Any and all experienced and constructive advise would be greatly appreciated as I have 5000 in this truck and I still have major issues to deal with the engine being one I thought I would not have to after spending 1500 to have a rebuild done. Thanks Zackshome

check out your oil pressure with a good mechanical gage! these things never have oil pressure that high. does the gage register high as soon as you turn the key to the run position? if so, a bad sender or wire. if the readings you have been getting are false, you may be running with low oil pressure and dont know it. check the gage.
