I was putting in a 2150-2 today and I realized that I do not know what to do with the vent nipple over the float bowl. This carb is the one with the vent spring-lever on the accelerator pump. On the top of the carb over the float bowl there is a nipple there. Anyone know what I should connect to it? I'm thinking it should go to the charcoal cannister, but the hose is too big for it. So do I even need to hook it up? Is it safe to plug it?

It is not a direct hook up. There is a solenoid and a vapor separator between the bowl nipple and charcoal cannister. The solenoid is open without power until the ignition is turned on.(to allow vapors from the bowl vent to go to the cannister), with the ignition on the solenoid is closed to allow vapors from the cannister to be purged at the correct operating temp. The vapor separater looks to me to be a vacuum operated check valve. When the solenoid is on(closed)nothing happens until the purge signal is received from the CTO. The order of the components from the bowl vent nipple are solenoid, vapor separator, cannister, with the appropiate hoses in between components. The vapor separator has 3 ports. The the two larger ports on the separator are to the vent bowl and cannister, the third is teed into the small(this port faces the same direction as port going to the bowl vent)line going to the PCV valve, which is the cannister purge line. It is hard to explain this stuff in writing. If you get the appropiate vacuum diagram for your vehicle, I believe you will see what I am talking about. Hope this helps!
