Some good - get out of a jam - idea's in the March Peterseson's 4 Wheel Mag.

But I am puzzled about the idea to syphon or gravity feed the carb. Sure if the pump is working, even a little, hook it on up, but if the pump is dead,....?

Any ideas?

Assuming the windshield washer pump works you can fill the washer bottle with fuel. Ain't fancy...but will get you off the mountain and home.

It works, trust me! If I had a dollar for every dead $50 beater I've revived gravity-feeding the carb...

I don't how to calculate the correct numbers, but you get at least enough pressure for a good idle.

BTW, you attach directly to the carb, bypassing the pump, if that's your point of confusion.

Once got a parts truck home by strapping my demo car tank the the roof rack and running a hose to the carb. Had to go about 5 miles at hwy spd, worked just fine.

ayuh, you'd be surprised about how much stuff a vehicle doesnt need to function minimally. i got my 1st woods buggy at 12.for me own it it hadda be mortally damaged. more n one was gravity fed. that was a minor inconvenience http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

Thanks guys,
I 'magined it would flood or the pressure wouldn't be high enough. But I can see with the float down, you wouldn't hardly need any pressure, just keep the feed can above it. http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/cool.gif
