What I am wondering, is that rivets holding the trim on?? And if so can they be grounded off,is there holes that have to be filled in etc????? I am thinking of removing the wood trim. Any help appreciated. THANKS!!!!!!!! :confused: :confused: :confused: :eek:

You can drill those out pretty easy, and yes, there will be holes left over that can be filled quite easy.

Yes, those are rivets. And yes, they can be ground off and filled (though it is better to weld them). Think long and hard before you start removing the woodgrain. I've done it and it's a major PITA.

Yea, I started out with a heat gun and scraper. I did one whole side like that, it only took about a month. So on the other side I used chemical paint stripper...worked like a charm, but I wouldn't recommend that unless you plan on repainting the vehicle.

yes there are many holes to be filled!!! I did the little narrow strip of trim on my 78 wagoneer and it left like 60 some holes down EACH side to be filled!!
