What do you guys think about this ? with an open diff. take the e-Brake cable and cut it in half and put it to two floor handel :D s between the seats. that way you have almost created your own cable operated locker , just pull the cable far enough to add what the spider gear will think is traction and the orher wheel will start to turn ( prolly the one that actually has traction ) What do ya all think ? Let me know .

How about putting in something called a turning brake or handbrake. Look at dune buggy stuff. their is 2 levers and one locke up one side and the other loks up the other side. Their is hydraulic ones and cable operated ones.

i have vw steering brakes in my rig. they are currently usless, since i recently welded the rear diff. but, they did work well with the open diff, but require alot more thot to drive. i wouldnt reccoemend hooking them up on a 44 if youre gonna run anything bigger than a 33,as "manual traction control" is VERY hard on the spider gears.

also,i dont think it will be nearly as affective with drum brakes. i run rear discs and i kept the steering brakes hydraulic cause ive never cared for the notion of mechaincal e brake calipers.
