After having put my newly rebuilt (rebuilt by a company) carb on, everything seemed fine, but when I would first start it in the morning it would usually run for about 6 seconds, then stall out. I would then start it again, and it would stay on. Then if I didn't wait until it was mostly warmed up and started to drive it, it would die out if I gave it too much gas. I would have to feather it lightly around until it warmed up.
I remember something like this on my last carb and I just turned the choke housing a little bit and it seemed to fix it.
So I did the same on this one. They had it set at where the electrical contact was pointing at 7 o'clock. I turned it until it was straight up and down. After doing that my car starts up just fine, stays on, and I didn't need to wait more than about 45 seconds to start driving.
What did I change, and what does that have to do with the rich/lean that appears on the choke housing...ie what is rich/lean they are talking about.
Thanks!
