Hey everyone. I've been looking into getting either the HEI or the TFI upgrade, but I can't decide which I should go for. At first I was leaning towards HEI because of the easier installation. But after reading this article on the TFI upgrade (http://www.ifsja.org/tech/electrical/ignitionupgrade.shtml), my opinion has changed. It sounds like the upgrade can be taken to a much higher level if I go with TFI. I would like to upgrade to an MSD control box at some point, and it seems like TFI is the better choice under those circumstances. What do you guys think?

I don't even think the HEI is easier. I've got the TFI and MSD and couldn't be happier with it.

I went the HEI route and it was a simple install despite having to shave the gear down slightly to fit.

The TFI is a good choice if you bypass the crap AMC igniton module and replace it with the AMC.

Either route will be a good improvement.

Well then, judging by those answers it sounds like TFI would be the better choice. Thanks for the advice smile.gif

And Shooter6, glad to meet a fellow S.A.'er tongue.gif I'll send you an email later tonight.
