Hi all, once again I must call on the experienced FSJ'ers here. I am trying to get my rig running smooth and need to time it. I have a light but I do not have a tach http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/frown.gif. As I am still an inexperienced wrench, I ear for rpm's seems to be off. I do seem to remember a way to time a car(or jeep http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/biggrin.gif)with the use of a vacuum guage. Could some one share some knowledge on how to time without a tacH... Thanks to all in advance.

Hey Tucson Rick, Hi

I live down by UofA campus(so I can walk to school...Parking sucks!) We should have lunch some time and talk jeep or just shoot the breeze

You don't need a tach for timing, do you? All I've ever used for timing is a timing light. Now for adjusting a carb you need a tach, or a REALLY good ear. Could be wrong here.

You can use a vac gauge, but as the rpm's climb so will the vac reading.
