Okay,
call me stupid, but after removing my alternator 3 months ago I have forgotten how it goes back on   This rig has been put together w/ bailing wire and bandaids. I am Totally frustrated
I had to take a breather.\

August 6th, RSM started the thread "Alt. Bracket missing". Bob supllies two pics of alt mounting, with a/c and without. Sorry, not enough of a comp geek to provide the link. :D

Considering I've taken mine off quite a bit lately here goes. Did you take the bracket off too? If you didn't it's pretty straight foward. You will have two holes on the alt. to put bolts in. The hole without threads in it is your pivot point that goes on the top. It has a spacer and some washers that go behind it and it screws into the block. The other hole has threads in it and it hooks to the alt. swing arm on the bottom. If you need to know how to put the bracket on let me know.

Thanks for all ya'lls help. The DSPO used some of the parts on the expolded view  I FINALLY figures it all out.
The DSPO had epoxied a washer on the block offcentered enough to allow the alternator bolt w/ the long spacer thread on  . It looks like he used one of the holes just beneath the left head.
I attatched it the same way, minus the washer, temporally. It isn't the correct Alternator either, but it works.
I found a 72 wagonner in the boneyard w/ a 360 so I will go this week and pull everything I may need to do it correctly.
SO far So good :D

See the little bracket behind the alt, but in front of the long bolt spacer? A lot of rigs have this "lost" for some reason. It really helps to keep the long alt bolt from snapping.
