What's the WSM to WSM width of a widetrack axle(dana44) and the cj7 axle(dana 20)WSM to WSM width.Thank you.TOM
I don't have all of the dimensions you need but wide track "CJ" axles are four inches narrower than narrow track "Wag" axles.
They're not even remotely close. Using 1980 numbers for both the CJ7 and WT's front/rear track widths(center of tire to center of tire) is 51.5"/50.0" and the WT Chero's is 65.4"/62.3"
I think in about 82 the CJ's got 2" wider axles but you're still nowhere near WT axle widths.

Ya in 82 CJ's went wider for safty reasons.. 2" front and rear i believe like Joe said. NT wag axles under a CJ make them a good dea wider (and more stable). But full width axles would be way wider, you would need to run hummer wheels too keep the tires somewhat under the fenders.

YES AMC 20.THANK YOU.TOM
If you're looking for axles to put under a CJ. I'd run narrow track Wag (SJ) axles. Their width is nearly identical to the YJ, TJ , XJ width which still allows some of the tire to ride under the CJ wheel well. I ran a Scout width Chevy D44 on the front of my CJ and a Wag D44 in the rear. The width was perfect.

Yes Axle from 86 and up Grand Wagoneers is usually what I sell to the Little Jeepers, for the rear axle Swap. I do have one Left too! ;)

I actually sold a set of W/T axles to a guy with a CJ converting over - always wondered how that would work out - probably looked like the front axle of a farm tractor with the wheels way outboard of the body.. :D tongue.gif
