Are the vacuum lines for the 229 a dealer only item. I snapped two of them today. I must get them replaced soon.

What lines are you talking about? The hard nylon lines could likely be redone with the same kind of nylon tubing that is used for air-shocks. Call around and I am sure you could find something that will work. Just reuse the existing end pieces/connectors with the new tubing. Please try and stay away from the dealer if at all possible. If you HAVE to get it from them for some reason then take a look at this link;

Is there any way to slip a piece of regular vacuum hose over the ends. To sort of splice them back together?
I know this is a band-aid repair but worth a try.

I am going to try. I bought a hard line splice kit yesterday. I going to put it on today!! If this wont work I found some hard line that I can use to replace it with. Thanks.

Wouldn't just some rubber hosing work, like fuel line hose or something? Just so long as its roughly the same interior diamater? What part of the vac line are you talking about?

I replaced mine last year with some hoses from the hardware store. I had snapped all three lines when I ran over a median. I'll try to snap some pics of my handiwork with my digital camera.

I broke the yellow and the red where they come out of the firewall. I found what I need to splice it back together. I hope to fix it tomorrow.
