Hello folks,
I have a question for all of you. If I go by the instructions in the Haynes manual for taking the window regulator out and installing the one from my parts 85 GW into my fathers 87 GW. My father lost his temper trying to pull the window motor out and trashed the motor mount, regulator, and the nylon piece with the teeth in it that slides in and out of the motor. This being it didn't work this morning when he got into it. Is there any problems I may run into doing this if I go by the manual that they don't list. Like I said, I have to change the whole assembly including regulator and what the motor mounts to. I would swap doors but the 85 is white, the 87 is black, and the 83 is brown. No go. Thanks for your help in advance I really need it this time

The Motor mounts to a bracket that is screwed to the door. Unless he has destroyed the door there is no reason why you can't just remove the bracket and motor from your parts rig and swap it in.

Well, I was sucssesful pulling the whole regulator out of my 85 GW. I went by the instructions in the Haynes manual and removed all of the glass and so forth and it worked like a charm. Only problem is I had to buy a new flex trac because that one in there didn't look so good either. All I have to do now is get the assmebly into my fathers 87 GW. Wish me lots of luck.
