Need assistance. I am trying to repair my rear power window. The window will not go up. I have the metal panel from the inside off so I can see all the compenents. I tried to wedge some wood in there to push it up, it wouldn't budge. I can not get anywhere near the motor to disengage it. Is there away to get up in there? Is there away to get the window up without breaking it? (I just want to make it go up and stay there)The other odd thing is I heard some noises like I was running over a piece of metal before this happened, I wasn't operating the window it was during my initial acceleration from a stop.

There's no moving that sucker with out using the motor. When mine didn't work in the past it was always a wiring problem. If I didn't have time to figure it out I'd just take the connector off the safety switch (driver side near the top of the tailgate), hook a battery or jump box (positive) up to the brown wire going to the motor and the battery ground to the tailgate. If you need to roll it down hook the positve to the tan wire. Assuming the wire didn't break where they come out of the tailgate you can do this trick from outside the truck as well (you just have to make sure the safety switch isn't the problem!)

There's a write up on the tailgate in the Tech Library of this site.

:D Had same prob today. When window went down it pulled the connector for the motor apart. Was able to fish it out with a grabber from the top. Used female connectors on a couple of pieces of wire to hook into it, took my aux battery out and was able to put the window up to zip tie the wiring in place. Changing the polarity of the wires on the battery terminals makes the window go up and down. Bypassed my safety switch on an earlier visit to the inside of the tailgate, but that's a neat trick Brin's got there. If the window isn't all the way down you might be able to pry the spring washers off the studs on the bottom of the window frame and pull the window out that way. Check out the tech article to understand what's going on in there. Good luck.
