For a while now, my Jeep has been running a bit rough at startup, but smooths out after warming up. The electric choke dont seem to work any more. It doesnt move at all. Also, the genius that rebuilt my carb didnt get the little gasket between the choke and the carb on right. It slipped off, and now its lost.

So, what all needs to be done to convert over to manual choke?

Its an easy conversion,I paid about CAN$15-17 any autoparts place will have them.Make all the bends in the cable as gentle as possible. Also most people trying to steal the truck will assume its an auto choke,it dont run so good if its cold with the choke off...

The cable is $5 here. What do I do about the port on the carburetor that the choke is hooked to? Maybe tap it and plug it up with a bolt?

If your pipe to the choke heat inlet is still there, you could probably just leave it, shouldn't hurt anything. If you're talking about where the choke body is on the carb, then that will stay in place. All you're getting is a cap to replace your electric cap. Bolt it on, hook up your cable, good to go.

Where do I get the regular cap?

Sorry but i would go with another rebuilt carb jon. I have a manual choke it was very disappointed in it. I'll take an elec. choke anyday.

The rest of the carb is good. Its just that my choke is messed up. Also, my power valve was blown, so he swapped in a power valve from a 2350 or some other larger Motorcraft Carb.
