Well, I was recently given on of the most massive bumper/pushbars I have ever seen. It's off of an old suburban that had it's springs mounted on the very ends of the frame rails much like our jeeps. My question is how shoudl I mount it? I'll probably have to have new mounts welded onto the bumber, but what about on the Jeep side. The bar originally mounted with on bolt through a top plate on the bumper and into the rail and two holes into the side of the rail. Should I just go with the same setup or what. I'd really like to keep my three piece chrome bumper intact. How has anyone mounted something like this? I was thinking of some heavy steel plate cut in an L shapeand welded to the bumper tube, so that the three piece sits above the custom bumper, but I'd lose ground clearance. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot.
