Well, I found out why the cruise wasn't working in my 86 G Wag. There was no control box! I also found out what the white plug hanging under the dash was for! I bought a control box off ebay and tried it this morning. Nothing. Is there a way to test the box itself to see if it's working? What else should I look for besides bad vacuum lines?
well go over the wiring and check what should be hot at the main plug and what wires come from the brake light switch ,many times that is unplugged or they replaced it with one that does not have an extra hook up for killing the cruise ,i am afraid just alot of tracing and verifying the wires actual use, there are tests for checking the transducer to see if it is good wit ha ohm volt meter ,but it hink something just basic is wrong with yours if everything is there is it feeding off the right fuse?

Does anyone know of a way to test the electronic control box itself to see if it's working?
