dose any body know what the cost differance would be in upgrading to a 401 when its new engin time rather than just geting another 360,.....and would my edelbrock performer manifold fit the 401

Maybe, 2-400 more if considering core charge difference, etc. If they won't take the 360 for a core, put it into the paper for 200 and see who bites. I sold a 304 that ran but needed rings for 200 in about 2 weeks. All of the exterior parts off of your 360 will bolt onto a 401. Also when they sell a intake manifold, they sell it to fit any and all of the AMC line.

Just curious...

that was a question that I'm going to take to the place that I'm considering getting an engine from.

Just how much better is the 401 compared to the 360?

I do alot of driving in the mountains of North Carolina. will a 401 give me that much more torque? Is it worth the difference?

Thanks

The biggest difference is that the 401 has a steel crank and connecting rods making it more desirable.
