Is the d 300 spline input the same as the turbo400 out put and if so does any body make an adapter? or will i have to get one made? the reason I am asking this is because it will not come out of 4x4 and the vacume lines are all good and hooked up.

Please give us a little more info! I am confused. Do you have a rig with a dana 300 that you want to swap a th 400 into?

sounds to me like his quadratrac is giving him issues, and wants to know if he can replace it with a dana 300.....

'81 Wagoneer would have the NP-219 Q-Trac, not the BW-1339. A D-300 would bolt up but the front output would be on the wrong side. What you want to replace the x-case with is an NP-208J

Sorry it is in a j10 that has quadra trac and a t 400 and I would like to put in the d 300 behind the tranny.

If you really want the D300, then you'll need an adapter. Novak probably makes one, as well as Advance Adapters. Don't know the cost, but it will involve at least a few numbers on the left hand side of the decimal point.

You might try to find a D20, since these came stock behind the TH400.

The low range on the D300 is a lot better, but the D20 might be cheaper to adapt.

ANYTHING you swap onto a TH400 that had the BW1339 QT will be a little more work than just an adapter kit. the TH400 found mated with a QT unit has a special 10 spline output shaft that is unique to the QT ONLY. The TH400 will have to be disassembled and the tailshaft swapped out with the correct length shaft and spline count, such as a short tailshaft from the 2WD TH400 models.

For those who have converted a QT/T400 to another xfr case, save those 10 spline shafts if they are any good. These take a beating sometimes and us QT users could prolly handle having a spare one available. ;)
