Ive been to auto zone and carquest and they both try to sell me this line that hasthe wrong fitting for the gear box. The nut itself wont go far enough down cause theres a flange that hit the inside of the gear box first. Has anyone had any similar problem? Where can I get the right one? Thanks Dennis
you need a doubleflair on both ends(im pretty sure)the one with the weird end and an o ring on it is what ive been told lately is a metric.but the treads seem to be the same.i actually need one for my chevy conversion that has the metric on one end and double flair on the other.this is proving to be just about impossible to find.i would be happy just to find an adapter to screw the metric into to convert it to doubleflair.
maybe someone can help us.

I could be wrong here... but my 78 has the original FSJ line... but the caddy line for the 1976 Eldorado from PS pump to the HB unit is the same fittings as the FSJ line going from the PS pump to the gear box... It's only like $18 at A Zone... it it don't fit... bring it back. Like I said this is on my 78... another board memeber said he had a 85-87 and the lines would not swap in...

KYJ, I show the carquest number as 35701 for the 360 and 35702 forthe six cylinder on just about every year. What did they give you??

There was a differance in the later years on one end or the other I do not recall what year, maybe someone installed a newer/older steering box.

If you want to make your own line, JEG'S performance sells both inverted flare and the metric o-ring box adapters with a -06 fitting. That if you want to make your own high presure line. WWW.JEGS.COM (http://WWW.JEGS.COM) I used the inverted flare and it worked fine. I went to a local speed shop/hydralic shop. I got the rest of the line items that I needed there.
i know jegs has the inv flair adapter but ive got a perfectly good hose and the only thing wrong with it is the fact that its got an o ring metric fitting on both ends.ive also got another one thats got double flairs on both ends.doesnt someone make a simple adapter that will convert one to the othjer?ive been quoted 35 to 45 bucks for a custom hose.

Mark, Sense you have two hoses to work with. Can't you just change out the end you need? I'm sure you can find the ends and fittings from JEGS.
