Ok all, I thought I saw this on this list. Zack in Penn. had plans on or selling aftermarket gauge cluster cutouts for our Jeeps where he rearanged the gauge setup using after market gauges. Anyone out there tried this or is Zack out there. I might be building a stroker 4.0 and might need to slap in aftermarket gauges in my baby.
thanks

Here is a cool web site http://home.supernet.com/%7Ezmjeeps/FSJ.jeeps/dash.htm
I plan on ordering one.

Birishman, thanks for the link to Zack's page.

I am planning on doing something similar. I am going to use a speedo gauge assembly out of a CJ7 and relocate the FSJ heater controls so I can add more gages using a plate like Zack shows. The CJ Speedo has integrated turn signal / hi beam indicators, fuel gauge, temp gauge and warning lights so it frees up more room in the cluster area for other gauges. I am collecting parts at this time. I just bought the entire dash out of a CJ7 with gauges and harness to use for this. Shouldn't be to hard to adapt from what I can tell so far.

Wesdog,
Check out my site. I used Zacks guage cutout, with Autometer Carbon fiber guages in my 80 Wag.
Link is below in my signature.

Wesdog..neat Idea...I like the sound of that, you ever do it, post it here.....because I'm going to modern wiring on my 79...I want to use the heater controls from a later style wag....this might make more room to put it up in the guage cluster???

Ramjet, looks great. I looked through your site a while back and was very jealous! My 95 Caprice has an 400hp LT4 about to be installed and I like the TPI motors also.

chiefwidwtrack, I'm doing the same thing with my heater controls. I have the parts coming to convert to the 85 and later style climate control system.

I don't know for sure yet if my plan to use the CJ7 style gauges will work because of the diameter of the Speedo assembly. I have some ideas I'm going to try. If I can't get the CJ7 setup to fit and look good I will use an ISSPRO gauge setup similar to what Ramjet did but with the more gauges in place of the heater controls. I already have a bunch of gauges from http://www.isspro.com
