I was checking out some seats for the Chero, and saw that there are some pretty nice and affordable seats out there, but they are stationary and don't tilt forward. Having a 2-door makes these seats a stupid buy, but then I thought I would get on here and ask if anyone has installed these seats in the front and simply used a quick release mechanism with cotter pins and hold rods. One would release the rear pins and simply tilt the seat forward. Has any one done something like this?

If you are looking in a junkyard check out the old Jeepster Commandos. They had a flip forward bracket on the passenger seat that can be adapted easy enough. Or you could just make your own up, I had done it on a CJ5 once when it still had the back seat.

how did you do this fab exactly? What materials?

They were plastic racing buckets so I had to fab up the mount completely. It was basically just a steel mount that pivoted in the front on a piece of bar stock and when it was in the down position it locked in with a hitch pin through the seat mount and a floor mount. I wish I had some pics but it was a while ago. I could try to draw something up if I am not describing it that well.

I would love a drawn out plan. I understand what you are saying, but a visual would def be welcome!
