its been awhile since I last posted, but here goes again.
I would like to talk to someone that has recently rebuilt their 360. Especially if they have stroked it with a 401 crank and rods.
I am looking at putting the Jacobs ignition on this motor along with a decent 4bbl with edlebrock intake. Looking for suggestions and information.
I am really interested in hearing from people that did this themselves and didn't have a shop do everything.
Thanks in advance guys and gals...

No help on the stroker motor questions, but I would recommend looking for a Holley intake such as this one available at eBay:

With the information in mind with the link Kris provided... why the new pistons? Is the stroke longer where the piston would hit the valves? If you went and replaced the crank/rod/piston .. wouldn't that basically just be building a 401 then because the block is the same as the 304/343/360's?
I wanted to do this before rebuilding my motor.. and apparently the "cast" crank they put in there snapped.. I might as well tell them to throw a 401 crank/rod and piston set in if I cover the cost.
No head modifications needed?

Hi Byron,
How's it goin ?
I see by your signature, you did make the move. I take it that Wayne is not going to be helping you with the rebuild. What ever happened to your " Parts " wagoneer?? Did you find a buyer for it?
I can't help much with the rebuild questions, but I can suggest the edelbrock performer intake and the Holley fuel injection instead of the carb. I put a factory 4 bbl and used holley projection on my J-10 and love it. I would put the aluminum intake on if you can get ahold of one cheap, otherwise see if you can round up a used factory 4 bbl.
I went from 6 mpg to 13 mpg in the j-10 when I put the EFI on.
Good luck.

OK call me a dummy but can any one describe the advantage of a "stroker" motor and for what application is this modification best suited (i.e. Off Road, street)?
