Does anyone know where I could find an Owners Manual for my 89 GW? PO didn't provide one, and though it isn't crucial I'd like to have one. I would be willing to pay someone to photocopy and mail it or scan and email.

Also, any ideas on where to start with power locks that occaisionally don't work? they seem to general lock ok, but sometimes a couple seem to hang and not unlock. Is there some servicing I can do on them?

Go back to the home page and try under parts sources. Go to manuals and literature and try the ist listing. It's Chrysler publications or something like that. I got mine AND a tech manual for around $70, $6.50 for the owners manual.

First thing I would go Darin, is to lubricate all the linkages for your latches. If you do any gravel driving as I do, they get pretty gumed up. It is possible that the motor is getting weak, but I bet more it is just dirt. Mine sometimes are very slow. I have to hit the switch several times to get them to come up completely.
Hope this helps.

I have the same problem with my '89 GW. The remote locks will lock but the driver's door and sometimes the driver's-side rear door won't unlock. I took everything apart and lubricated the mechanisms, but no difference. The service manager at the local Jeep dealer says it's the solenoids and they will have to be replaced at over $100 per! Ouch!! I decided to just use the key. Anyone out there know of a cheaper source for these parts?

try cleaning them up and making sure they are grounded. i have pretty good luck with that. a return spring added to the linkage could help too.
