i did a test by the haynes manual for my coil. it says primary resistance should be 1.13-1.23 ohms , test read .77ohms , secondary checked within the tolerances but when i check the power to the coil it reads 6-7v when i pull off the horseshoe clip it has 12v to it! is the voltage dropping cause the primary is bad?how will this affect the vehicle?

there is a reistor in series with the 12 volt feed to the coil, connected with
the - side grounded (Either though closed points or the module transistor
on) the + side voltage should be in the 6-7 give or take range, so that is
not out of whack. Some after market coils do have a lower resistance
primary than the stock coil, so is some of your primary winding shorted ?
hard to say from info given.
