Ok when I switched to TFI I seemed to forget what wires from the old voltage regulator go to the alt. Can somebody help me out on how to hook up the alternator. I know their is 4 connections. Here is what I have so far. This is for my 76 j20 by the way

1.output - Goes to battery positive (has a red ring around the skrew)

2. Ground - Im not sure if it hooks to the voltage regulator or chassis ground. This is the terminal on the alternator with a black ring around it. And if it does hook to the voltage regulator then it hooks to the Green wire on the outside of the connector.

3. AUX - either the black of yellow wires from the regulator hook to this

4. Feild - same as AUX I just dont know wich.

thanks

Old Voltage Regulator Wiring:

Yellow Wire goes to the 10AWG wire from Ammeter which is essentially power.

Green Wire goes to FLD or the Field Terminal of the Alternator

Black Wire goes to the Splice in the Wiring Harness that is power and you can locate it by back tracing the Carb Solenoid (powers the solenoid) there used to be a RED wire going to the Positive terminal of the Ignition coil, and you can hook it to that spot, or more appropriately just follow the Positive Terminal of the Coil back to the splice or a place where you can attach the old voltage regulator's black wire....anyway you need switched 12Vdc on that Black wire.
