need advice on fuel pump

having a hard time getting fuel pump in. so stiff, dont want to break it trying to get it close enough to bolt up. any help appreciated.

the fuel pump cam is what is giving you the problem. usually i try to remeber the position of the pump when i took it out and replace it in the same orientation. i would just keep trying different positions until it fits. be patient and don't force anything. you might be ale to see its position using a flashlight. good luck

Try to work the pump by hand before you put it in. You should be able to move it without WAY too much effort. After you get it to move and figure out where you need to put pressure on it, give it another test fit, then throw on the gasket and go.
