well i went for my first test drive on th ebeach today and th etemp keeps on climbing. it reaches about 210 and then i stop rev it in nuetral and th etemp slowly comes down. on the street it runs no higher that 160-180 degrees. their is a tranni cooler in the radiator and an external one mounted in the front on the radiator??. their is no fan clutch, the fan always spins. The radiator dosent look like it is more than a few years old. the fan shroud is fine.
any ideas???

What mix you running? 50% water and 50% antifreez works best for me.

How mutch crud is built up in the radiator?

Try lower gears.

Put it in low range if you have it.

Extra heat from tranny might be over taxing the cooling system.

Did you air down the tires? 12-15 pounds is great in the sand. This helps in 2 ways. Bigger foot print, and slightly lowers gearing.

Hope this helps

dave jensen ... When your running in sand it will increece the effort of the engine which equills more heat. Also the Tranny torque converter slips more which equills more heat. As long as the radiator doesn't leak and the pressure cap is holding 6 to 13 lbs don't "sweat" 210 degs. A six lbs PCap will up the boiling point to 236 and some coolant mixes even higher..
Good Advise from Millerluck...but tire pressure depends on tire size and load on the tire Plus temp of the tire..Me? 31x10.5 @ 6000lbs = 28psi hot..22 psi cold..... ;) ...ds..
