I installed the Holley 2D system last year and was never really happy until this past weekend. I bought a new thermostat and installed it, night and day difference! The temp guage was slightly higher and made all the difference.

maybe it never got off the "choke" circuit. i installed some LEDs in the closed-loop box on my old analog system. green for power, yellow for choke, orange/green for manual/auto mixture control, and the original red for mixture (on for rich, off for lean, blinking for just right.)

Could be, I've never been "really" happy with the setup until now. "Stomp and Go" power, great idle, and a lot better ecomomy.
There was no markings on the old thermostat, I should dig it out from the garbage and see what temp it opens at. I bet it's a 160 or lower.

Puslinch,
I'm glad you've got your 2D working right. I'm still haven't worked out all the grimlins in mine. It bogs and floods on fast accel from idle when it is hot - I've turned the Accel adjustment all the way down but, I still have the problem. It doesn't hesitate at all when cold. Did you have that problem?

Lanierboy, sounds like you might have a problem with fuel pressure.

Hey Moose, I see you finally got the LEDs hooked up like you wanted. I bet that makes you feel more in control. Did you go back to the TAC air cleaner set up? I seem to remember you saying you were going to. With the new LEDs are you able to tweak a little more mileage out of it? http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/wink.gif

wd: yeah, the leds let me know if something is wacko, but the only control i have over it is to revert to manual mixture control. and i only do that if the mixture led gets "stuck" and drives the auto system either too lean or rich. i assume the problem is with the O2 sensor, but i have not gotten a chance to build the voltage monitor box yet. i guess i could always switch over to manual control and adjust it a little lean for hiway use, but i would rather leave it in auto. gas is still cheaper than pistons! but not by much.
as for the TAC, i hooked that up again, so now i have that and the pcv, and vacuum advance (right from the port on the throttle body, no cto or other stuff). and thats it. no other crap left. more room under the hood, no drivability issues, lots of torque. mpg the same, about 12.6. oh well.

Lanierboy;
I played around with all the knobs then started fresh and at the beginning - curb 600rpm and set the TPS. I have no bogging when I stomp it hot or cold. Did you replace the factory return line with a larger one? Also sounds like the Main could be set to high. Does to flood to the point of stall?
