I was thinking about relocating the breather barb on my axle to the center section. Does anyone see any problems with this. Also, isn't the stock barb pressed in?

Why, because this axle will be going under a CJ and the barb might interfere with the ubolts in its stock location.

You really should keep it on the tube. Put it as close to the center as you want, however if you put it on the center you will be throwing alot of gear oil out of it due to the spinning ring gear. Even if you have a long breather hose and none comes out it will eventually cause the hose to either swell and close which can damage seals or split/breeak which can let water in. Dennis

Thanks.
I'd thought about that.

I see other axles from the factory with the breather on the center section without problems, so that kind of lessened my concerns if I did move it.
