View Full Version : rear end spring shifted...PLEASE HELP!

I have a snapping sound in the rear of my wogon
and I looked under there to find the springs on
the rite side have shifted, or is it the whole
rear axel? It's got me stumped on how to fix
this, as I'm not an expert on rear end's.
Please do HELP me PLEASE! thanks for any input

Maybe you broke a U-bolt? It's hard to say without more info...

If the springs are featherd then you can pound them back together and get new brackets from local distributor. thats if Im reading you right on description..

Very possible the center bolt of the spring is broken. Unbolt the ubolts on that side and lift the rig to lift the spring off of the axle. You can get a centering bolt from a local auto parts store, should be round headed 3/8xfine thread bolts. Install the bolt, cut it about 1/8 longer than the nut after installation and smash the threads with a hammer to lock the nut. Reinstall ubolts while also loosening the other side. Once everything is back in place, cinch all of the ubolts down tight. J20
