Just get yourself an "up to 84" FSJ bodylift. I think Wagoneer's have more body-cups than J-trucks do, so even J-truck owners can use them. I believe the kit is 3" and around 70 bucks.

Thought I can't promise this, I'd put some concern into the transfer-case shifter on your tranny hump. Some folks say it has to be modified, and some say it just points a little lower on the floor. Being mine isn't bodylifted and my 2-low is all the way against the tranny hump AND floor.. I don't think it'll work in my favor that easily. Best of luck to you though, keep me posted on how your shifter ended up coming out!

i have a 84 gw with select trac

i made my own 3 inch bodylift and i had no prob;ems with the transfer case shifter it as snakeeyes said just points mor towards the floor in 2wd, i had no trouble with the transmission shifter, but i have an aftermarket shifter that uses a cable.

When I lifted my 65 and put the q/trac in it I had to lenghen the 2 spd shifter linkage. I made a new one from round stock, acouple of washers welded on, and 2 cotter pins.

From what I've been reading I've noticed that People who are looking at puting on the lift are afraid of the linkage, but constistantly, those who have done it say that it is just lower. What about bumper relocation Is there a bracket for sale or will i have to fab my own (and start selling it!). also is there any reason to get one kit over another and other than the tranny mod dose ever thing else line up??

snakeyes, you got it backwards. the truck has 4 more bodymounts than a wag. i accidentally ordered the truck kit,and ended up haveing to buy about half the bolts to make it work. i made good use of my 4 extra pucks by making 4 more mounting points-2 along the rearmost crossmember where the last 2 mounts are,and i ran a bolt down thru the big rubber thing that is normally just a spacer of sorts and added the other 2 there.

i have a performance accessories kit that i got from 4 wheel parts wholesalers. there wasnt much to it. the lift blocks and a little piece to extend the tranny linkage that was too skinny,so i couldnt use it anyway.cant comment on the xfer case shifter, cause i havent been using it until now.i just hooked it up to my pto lever to engage the pto. pretty crafty i am http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/smile.gif anyway,in a worse case say you need to extend your linkage or make a new one, this is a simple operation. other things are a much bigger deal-namely lowering your radiator and raising your bumpers. for the most part wiring and hoses should have plenty of room.

hope this helps.any further ques?

id reccomend buying the kit for the jtruck. you will need to buy some bolts, but the kits are the same price, and i think its worth buying the truck kit to get extra mounts.
